Process

Chiaro begins by conducting focus groups and surveys, respectfully listening to the thoughts, feelings and needs of individuals, as well as the culture and intentions of the organisation. We use various diagnostic tools to gauge leadership style and its support of an inclusive organisational culture. Our proposal is therefore customised to the needs that surface during the diagnostic.

The workshops are based on the methodology of Process Work, developed in the 1970’s by Arnold Mindell from Portland, Oregon. Chiaro facilitates the increase of awareness of issues such as rank, power and privilege, deep democracy, in-groups out-groups, psychological edges and unexpressed voices. The methodology works on 3 levels of reality, namely consensus, body signals/emotions culminating in a state of community within the workplace. From the latter a new consensus reality is formed.

Two day workshops are followed up after 6 weeks by a one day workshop to entrench the learning. Chiaro also offers coaching sessions to create opportunity for individuals to grow in the area of diversity competence – this follows on the content and experience of the workshops.

Sustainable organisational change cannot happen without structural changes, therefore Chiaro works with the project team to start up, design and implement changes in company culture. Working with stakeholders and employees, Chiaro assists with the communication phases of creating awareness, establishing understanding, obtaining acceptance and getting commitment.

The desired outputs of the programme would include

    • • an understanding and respect for diversity in all its forms as well as the impact it has on us,
    • • a continual exploration of our personal conditioning and the need to develop a sensitivity to the impact of our behaviour,
    • • an increased awareness of the power of individuals to make a change and
    • • a community of respect, stimulation, joy, appreciation, nurturing, caring, creativity, belonging, acceptance, dignity, inclusivity and trust.
